Gratitude. From deep within my heart.

I am grateful for change.

30 is approaching and I notice more gray hairs on my head that never used to be there. I value that they usually represent aging, our bodies changing and "wisdom". I am grateful for physical things about me that are no longer the same because they remind me to appreciate and enjoy my physical journey at each phase. I am grateful for this positive energy I am feeling this morning because it isn't always here. I get in mental funks and forget to stop and smell the colorful flowers. I am grateful for this body that loves to move just because it can. I am grateful for improvisation dance classes in college because they allowed me to move and create without judgement. I did not have the pressure to be "perfect" for a performance, or pressure to look as amazing as my peers. I cherish those moments in my life when I was indulged in creative energy. I am grateful for the times in my life when I transcended into pure joy through just dancing along the ocean shore, or outside at a park, or even here in my living room. There is no greater joy for me and I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I am grateful for every location I have ever traveled to and every person I have ever traveled with. Of all of the beautiful places on earth, the ones I have been fortunate enough to visit are special. Of all the billions of people on earth, the ones I've been blessed to encounter in any way are remarkable. These unique experiences are what make this life so wonderful.
And then there are dogs. I am grateful for every lick I receive from these precious faces. Every warm cuddle when I am cold at night, and the specific dog scent I smell from my stinky babies. I am grateful for family who feel like friends and for friends who feel like family. I am grateful for stories that move me; for lyricists, authors, writers and dancers. I am grateful for every beginning and end of a relationship; for moments of connection and bonding to moments of silence and distance. I am grateful for emotions and every ounce I feel. I am grateful for stars in a dark sky and the way the ocean talks and never sits still. I am grateful for music and the moments when it's just us two. I am grateful for nature and it's aesthetic. I am grateful for my Creator and to be alive on planet Earth. I am grateful for all forms of communication. I am grateful for effort and clarity. I am grateful for the eyes that come across these words. I could go on and on.

More than anything else I have, and no matter how fast or slow it may seem to pass, I am grateful for time. I hope you are too. Happy Thanksgiving. Much love.
