I've lived in this town my whole life and most of the time that's fine by me. But in late fall when the sky fills with birds migrating south for the winter, traveling thousands of miles, I get homesick for places I've never been. Places like Colorado. Anyone who has ever been to Colorado says it is the most beautiful place they have ever visited. In the pictures I've seen it is either all green or white. I hear Colorado actually has all 4 seasons year round. Fall, winter, spring and summer. Wow. I wonder what that would be like. I wonder how it would affect my energy and mood. Houston can get pretty cold, but it rarely snows. If it does, it's usually only a few inches and melts away within 24 hours it seems. Houston definitely gets hot though! You open the door to get into your car and that heat is so rude. It's hard to breathe in it and it pisses people off. Places like Colorado are where people go to feel like they can finally breathe. It is full of divine trees and mountains. Scenic views like that do something for people, so I get why they fall in love. I am not sure how I would feel during the winter season in Colorado though. I am normally always cold so I like to stay warm. The snow is beautiful, but I remember taking a trip to Chicago, Illinois, and the temperature was 6 degrees outside. My body shook unpleasantly in those frosty streets. That cold wind slapped my face hard! I remember trying to get my jacket to cover as much of my face as possible. I am from southeast Texas, y'all. It was freezing. Snow is dreamy, but I am not sure I would appreciate my runny nose and rosy cheeks for too long. Or maybe I would. Ways to cure this homesick feeling? Exploration and discovery.
